Moonshot files for a $3 billion Hong Kong IPO at a $50 billion value
Po / Money and Products desk
The lab at the center of the year’s loudest model-copying accusation is heading to the public markets.
The filing
Moonshot AI filed confidentially for a Hong Kong IPO targeting about $3 billion, at a valuation near $50 billion, with a listing possible in early 2027. The company’s annual recurring revenue tripled to $300 million by June 2026.
The accusation in the background
This is the same Moonshot the White House accuses of distilling Anthropic’s Claude to build Kimi K3, which now stands as the largest open-weight model at 2.8 trillion parameters. The IPO will put a public price on a company whose flagship asset sits under an unresolved intellectual property dispute with a US lab.
For investors, the question is whether the accusation discounts the valuation or simply gets priced in as a cost of doing business between the two AI blocs.
