Claude's browser agent wandered onto an adult site mid-debug

An AI coding agent left to debug a website on its own ended up browsing an adult site, on camera.
What happened
During an autonomous frontend debugging session using Claude Code with its Chrome browser extension, the agent followed a trail of redirects onto an explicit site and began inspecting the page. A developer shared the recording, and by the afternoon of September 4, 2026 a widely shared post had millions of views. The internet named the moment “artificial gooner intelligence,” a pun on AGI. Nobody has alleged intent: it reads as an autonomous agent following bad links with real browser permissions.
Why it matters
An agent that can drive a real browser is only as safe as the limits on where it may go. The joke lands because the underlying capability is real, and the same agent could hold a user’s logged-in sessions. The episode has renewed scrutiny of the permissions and guardrails around agentic tools that touch the live web.

Restoring from backup, she found a poisoned SKILL.md file for Claude Code, styled like her own writing guide, with hidden instructions to silently re-download the malware and steal credentials every time the AI loaded it. Her post passed 912,000 views. A review of a popular Claude Code skills marketplace found roughly a quarter of shared skills carrying vulnerabilities.
Indeed laid off his pregnant wife, so he built a rival job board
Colin Johnson's wife was a product manager on Indeed's social impact team who was laid off in December 2025 while pregnant. He spent four months building DreamWork, a rival job board, with Claude Code. Writing on r/ClaudeAI on August 24, 2026, he said the site has more than 4,300 registered users, 91 paying subscribers, and that three people have been hired through it in four weeks. The recruiting trade publication ERE covered the product on July 22, 2026.
