UBTECH's UWORLD U1 companion robot logged 13,361 orders before a single unit shipped
At its 2026 Global Launch Event in Shenzhen on June 30, 2026, UBTECH introduced the UWORLD U1 series, which it calls the world's first full-size mass-produced ultra-bionic humanoid robot. Cumulative orders passed 13,361 units as of launch day, before shipping began. Pricing starts at 119,800 RMB, about $17,600, in male and female versions. The pitch is companionship, emotional support, hospitality, elder care, tourism and education, built on biomimetic skin, embodied AI hardware and emotion-driven language models. Competitor DroidUp's Moya keeps its synthetic skin at 32 to 36 degrees Celsius, at around $175,000.
