AI reverse engineering revived Spartacus Legends, dead since Ubisoft closed it in 2015
A Reddit user (u/IrLOL) made Spartacus Legends playable again 11 years after Ubisoft shut its servers in 2015, using Ghidra, the RPCS3 emulator and three AI agents over five days. GPT-5.6 Sol cracked the login barrier and discovered the game's multiplayer was host-authoritative peer-to-peer rather than server-simulated, allowing two clients to fight and appear on the original in-game leaderboards. The author concluded the AIs compress reverse engineering work that took months into days.
