Fans accuse Marvel of AI art in the Spider-Man: Brand New Day book
The Spider-Man: Brand New Day companion art book (208 pages, released August 18, 2026) includes a New York street piece titled Big City, Little Spider, credited to concept artist Scott McInnes. Readers spotted warped taxis, misaligned windows and smeared fire escapes and accused Marvel of using generative AI. The publisher said the image was a rushed human photobash made with cloning tools, called it laziness rather than AI, and said it has an anti-AI policy. Marvel has not commented.
