ICE plans to spend up to $2 million on Boston Dynamics robot dogs
According to a DHS announcement reported on August 28, 2026, ICE plans to buy Boston Dynamics Spot robot dogs, budgeting between $1 million and $2 million for the units and accessories. The robots carry cameras and sensors to inspect dangerous, confined or hard-to-reach spaces and tell officers whether it is safe to enter. It runs alongside a separate $16.7 million DHS contract for 6,000 pairs of electric shock gloves.
